Manatees

In the winter season, manatees seek the 72ºF water in the run at Blue Spring State Park in Orange City, FL.  The photos below were taken February 6, 2000.

NOTE:  If you go to Blue Spring State Park, be careful where you leave your car when the park is closed to vehicular traffic.  We not only got a ticket, we had an 8 1/2 by 11 red sticker glued to the driver's side windshield.  It took us ten minutes to remove most of it.  A nice man stopped by with a razor blade, and I used it to clean the rest off so I could drive.  Lots of cars got the sticker/ticket that day.  Needless to say, I included a "nice letter" with my $15 check.

Hey, Volusia County, how about some better, less confusing NO PARKING signs, OK?
